| I find language barriers are quite fun. They create simple but nifty situations. Of course its always impossible to understand what a drunken Inishmaan says. | |

| Some of my professors here have the funniest sayings. This school has some real characters. So I thought that other signature was getting a bit old, and decided to start posting some of the funny ass stuff ive been hearing here.
This particular one was in safety and survival class. He described having your boat sinking as ruining your day. I thought it was such an understatement that I couldnt stop laughing.
I would have posted some other quotes that would have made mark goose it up if he were here, but sadly chinese/scottish imitation accents dont translate well unless they are spoken out loud. But hearing one of my teachers do scottish imitation voices of the villagers standing around watching his tanker run aground and yelling out scottish insults nearly made me goose laugh.

| For those who don't know, I work within a big financial company that holds retirement plans. I work in their customer service group and I always get really crazy callers every day. The most crazy of the crazy wanted to know our company's policy on allowing him to cash a check for over $27,000. And by cash, I mean he walks away from the bank with nonsequential $20s. Just a tiny bit sketchy. Appearantly he needed to pay someone off that wouldn't take a check. I told him he should ask the bank that he's going to try and cash it at. I really wanted to mention (but didn't) that a ski mask would be optional. | |

| So now we get into rolling questions. Ive given this some thought as to how this will work. You obviously can see what ive chosen to do for the first roll, but I dont think this will be standard practice. I would like to take a poll of what people would prefer to do. Options are:
1) I roll for most extraneous stuff, I.E. your perception rolls, and you all send me rolls when you state your action as Victory did.
2) P.M. tag for rolls, I send a request, you send a roll... really only works if we check it fairly fast.
3) I post spoiler boxes based on what DC's you meet. I.E. upon 3 successes you would open a spoiler box and see what happens, but it would contain less info than the 4 successes box.
4) other options that i havent thought of, I.E. you guys come up with ideas.
Which ever way would work best for you guys. Frankly the only one that bothers me is #2, since I know people have a real life and will be gone for a few days sometimes. Anywho, let me know what you guys think and we can implement a rolling system for the future.

| As to why they are more concerned with your animal than using magic. It is generally accepted in this world that magic users exist. It is akin to a knife or a gun in our society (ok maybe a bit more of a mature society like europe). Either way, having control over magic is just that, control and as such magic doesnt get out of hand unless the people do. This is why they have police.
Animals on the other hand are somewhat unpredictable. Even trained animals act in what humans would consider erratic and uncontrolable ways. Akin to a dog barking, or for some reason not liking someone. Especially the more testy of animals. How many people are terrified of snakes, even pet ones. It makes sense that people would be more jumpy at seeing something they wouldnt notice that could poke and kill them. Thus their society reacts similarly.

| I figured as much, it was just amusing to him, from his point of view. Though I admit I thought magic was a little less common than that, but okay. | |

| Hey now, Pig Dinner, and the drinking, kept a few of us very busy this weekend.
Softball score, Grads 28, Undergrads 2. There was no drinking during the game. Woe to the undergrads I wonder if they will learn for next year?

AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA..... Deep Breath... AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! oh man...that was just what I needed. Whew! Now let me just lean back and envision Raul and his exploding soda in gloves... time passes byAh, good times good times. That is what dreams are made out of. On a serious note: I haven't been as concerned with numerical bar tabs, I figured I'd let you know about the money situation in case you guys were. Pay whatever you think your character would have drank. 2C/pint, meal ~ 5C for this bar purposes.

At this point we are waiting for the story arc to be advanced by a certain DM... /poke. Mikhael is poked in the side by Cap'n Pat. Ouch, that hurts!

| Hoo boy busy week! Thanks for squishing out those crickets Umbra. As I said earlier, there may occur circumstances where i get very busy/have no internet for a bit. Like a surprise trip to see myra down in NJ where her "internet" fails me.
Anywho, bad timing on that part. Im back now and lets get this rolling again.
